2017 - Present

Facilitate school-based behavior intervention room in Title 1 school with undergraduate teacher candidates. Evaluate technical solutions to improve access to STEM for students with disabilities. Conduct research on augmented and virtual reality applications to promote STEM education. Support research and development projects in collaboration with the DIAGRAM Center.


Teacher of the Visually Impaired, Lighthouse Central Florida
2016-2018

Instructed elementary students with visual impairments. Primary responsibilities included planning and delivery of specially designed instruction aligned to state standards and expanded core curriculum focused on academic, social, and independent skills, delivered in the afterschool and summer programs.

Planned and delivered academic instruction in core subjects. Provided enrichment and interventions as needed. Problem solved and worked collaboratively with students, staff and parents to foster meaningful relationships.

Instructed elementary students with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, specific learning disability, and intellectual disability. Primary responsibilities included planning and delivery of specially designed instruction for reading, writing, math, social, and behavioral needs, in separate class, resource, and general education settings. Served as co-lead on the school’s crisis prevention and intervention team.
